Lord's sign efforts

Gotta love the efforts of the Lord's sign team!

One item on tonight's town meeting will be an article to set aside funds (if needed) for preservation of the Lord's sign. Total amount requested is only $5,000.

Why do I say "only"? In the scheme of things, $5,000 isn't a lot of money, and there will be no problem raising those funds. I've been involved in three large fundraising campaigns within a one-year period of time, and the generosity of Medfield residents has been astounding, ultimately resulting in 5-figure donations being raised in a matter of weeks. "Good works" is also about thanking the people who step up and support your cause.

Just like art and historical landmarks are subjective -- we can't expect everyone to love the Lord's sign. I'd just hate to see a $5,000 price tag be the primary reason for any "no" votes tonight.

No matter what the outcome, I applaud the good works of the team spearheading the campaign.
